Hometown: Wanaka
Mathilda lives with her mum and dad, Joanne and Tim and her younger sister Isabel who also competes in Alpine Ski racing. She began skiing at 2 years old. Age 6, after 2 weeks of learning how to go around gates she competed in her first race at Coronet Peak and has never looked back. She trains on snow with Wanaka Ski Team and LIT racing. This year she transitions from youth racing to FIS and is focusing on making small improvements each day. Her ultimate goal is to be competitive on the world cup circuit and represent New Zealand at the Winter Olympics. For now, she concentrates on training her body and her mind and focusses on enjoying the journey.
